Luvies: Relationship Advice From Two Girls Who Have Never Been in One

In today's fast-paced society where dating consists of swiping left or right to find that perfect match, it can be hard to navigate through relationships. Luckily, there's a new Podcast which addresses these issues! There's a catch though, neither of the hosts have actually been in a relationship. The Daily Fern caught up with the hosts of 'Luvies', to learn more about their show.

The Daily Fern: You two have recently started a podcast 'Luvies', where your motto is "hear a third party unbiased view of relationships from two girls who have never been in one!" What made you start a podcast about relationships considering neither of you have been in one?

Luvies: Everyone is in some kind of relationship, and in relationships there are so many dynamics at play. We aren't inclined to give unsolicited advice to our friends, and we don't consider ourselves as gurus in general, but since we are so removed from all the trappings a relationship brings, we found ourselves discussing relationships of people we knew and where the shortcomings were that they couldn't see. It's so psychological and involved and sometimes there's no rhyme or reason as to why someone loves someone else, so as we found ourselves discussing different patterns and processing our thoughts it helped bring light to our own journeys. We then thought our "discoveries" were fun and helpful to us, so that made us want to turn our thoughts into a podcast . We also think we're rather entertaining and wanted, if nothing more, to bring happiness and a satirical perspective on relationships. Does the woman who's in a  5 year relationship have way more knowledge and experience under her belt than us? Absolutely. However, we can laugh about it more since we're just discussing the "fun" stuff and not actually in the "trenches" of love. The Daily Fern: Does your show cover any other topics outside of dating?

Luvies: While we mostly cover dating, we also touch on the fundamentals of relationships that go just beyond romantic partnerships. We speak on loving yourself first and using discretion when going into something new, and we also discuss our take on what relationships look like for those who are even currently in a long term commitment. Having a relationship is only one step, but maintaining a lasting partnership takes a lifetime of work. The Daily Fern: Why do you think audiences can relate to your show?

Luvies: Relationships are happening each day no matter who or where you are. Whether it's romantic, a better relationship with yourself or your family, there are so many dynamics at play and we want to go beyond just putting a label or a feeling on something that is natural. There's no need to feel bad for not being in a relationship just like there's no reason to feel guilty for being in a great relationship, it's all in God's timing when and how a relationship happens, and we want our audiences to know that the best relationship starts with loving yourself, and we hope everyone can agree that that is a relationship worth investing in. The Daily Fern: Where can people go to listen to you ladies?

Luvies: We are available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Spotify along with other minor platforms such as breaker, overcast and radio public.
