Starbucks is typically the go-to for on the go millennials, but for the rest of America, Dunkin', formally known as Dunkin' Donuts, has been a staple since the 1950's. I love coffee, and after seeing a new coffee shop open near me, I set out to do the ultimate taste test and settle the debate on who makes the best coffee.
Being raised on Starbucks, I’ve tried most of their menu, from Frappuccino's to refreshers I’ve had them all. Dunkin’ is new to me and I’m making my way through their menu. I personally do not drink hot coffee regularly, so I’ll only be referring to their iced drinks at this time, but let's break it down by drink.

Iced Coffee: Winner is Dunkin’
The Dunkin’ Vanilla Iced Coffee is a dream compared to Starbucks. It's creamy and sweet, while still so strong. The Caramel Iced Coffee is also great, not as creamy and for sure stronger! I ordered both of them with oat milk! The only downside is Dunkin’ doesn’t offer white chocolate like Starbucks, which is my go to for iced coffee. Still -- the taste of the coffee itself secures The W for Dunkin.

Matcha: Winner Starbucks
The new Summer drink at Starbucks really sold it for me! The Pineapple Match drink with coconut milk is delicious and my new favorite at Starbucks. Matcha is something I get every now and then and if I really want that I’ll just grab it at Starbucks as it’s closer and I prefer it over Dunkins’. While Dunkins' isn’t bad by any means it’s not something I would go out of my way for.

Lattes/Macchiatos: Winner is Dunkin’
The Iced Caramel Latte with oat milk is to die for. This is my go to drink at Dunkin'. Their caramel and oat milk mix is an amazing combination in the latte, and way better than the Caramel Iced Coffee. My take is the exact same for the Macchiato. The coffee is better, and the caramel is better, overall the drink is superior at Dunkin’ to Starbucks. Check out the Caramel Latte or Macchiato and let me know what you think!

Frozen Coffee/ Frappuccinos: Winner is Starbucks
The real reason Starbucks wins is because Dunkin’ can’t make their Frozen Coffee dairy free, so I haven’t tried them, but my mom and friend both told me that they prefer Starbucks Frappuccinos to Dunkin’s Frozen Coffees. So the W goes to Starbucks based on their opinion and my inability to try them as they aren’t dairy free!
So it really is up to preference and taste where you grab your next coffee, but if I want a strong smooth coffee I’ll be heading to Dunkin’. Let me know what your go to coffee order is so I can try it on my next trip through the drive thru!
