YouTuber’s, Marcus and Kristin Johns, Survive Hit-and-Run

YouTube influencer’s Marcus and Kristin Johns claim Jesus saved their lives after being sent to the hospital as a result of a hit-and-run.

The husband and wife duo were biking on the evening of Monday the 11th when they were reportedly hit by a car, resulting in both having broken bones, needing surgery and physical therapy in order to walk again.

On Tuesday both social media stars took to social media to inform their followers of the incident. Kristin was the first to open up as she laid in her hospital bed.

“Last night Marcus and I were in a horrible bicycle accident,” Kristin, 24 said in a video posted on her Instagram. “A man going extremely fast hit us head-on and he fled the scene. My femur is snapped in half and I had surgery this morning. Marcus’ lower leg is broken.”

She continued to explain that she believes it was more than luck that saved their lives.

“I just have to tell you guys that Jesus saved our lives,” Kristin continued, “This is an extremely traumatic experience.”

Later, Marcus, 27, posted out a video from his hospital bed explaining more details and he suspects it may have been more than an accident.

“I wanted to give you a couple more details,” Marcus said. “The car that hit us was apparently part of the burglary was trying to run from the cops and so we think that the car hit us on purpose to try to get the cops’ attention away from him so he could get away.”

There has been no update to whether they have found and caught the driver.

Marcus said that he was not sure if people would take him seriously for thinking they were hit on purpose; however, the police chase and burglary backed up his story.

"I tried to swerve out of the way but he just followed us to hit us. I blacked out until I got to the hospital. So after I don’t know what really happened," Marcus said. "Sadly Kristin was fully conscious and had to watch me unresponsive on the concrete till the ambulance arrived for us.”

The social media star voiced that he also believes their survival was a miracle.

“Man, Jesus saved us, dude. We should have died in that thing, Marcus said. “We should have died in that accident…Surviving was nothing short of a miracle.”

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Marcus and Kristin could not receive any visitors, but they have been able to video chat with their friends and family.

Many fellow social media stars including Sadie Rob Huff, Carlos PenaVega, and Jaci Marie Smith commented and posted sending their love and prayers to the couple.

Motivational speaker, Sadie Rob Huff commented on Kristin’s video apologizing for the experience and letting the couple know she was praying for them.

“Praying for ya’ll!! I’m so sorry to hear about this…thank God ya’ll are okay,” Huff said, “Praying He gives ya’ll peace for your mind to recover and strength to recover and strength for your bodies to recover.”

Marcus’ brother, Cody Johns, who is a Singer/Songwriter, posted on his Instagram that hearing about the accident and not being able to see them at the hospital was difficult for the family.

“I can’t explain the feeling of receiving that initial hospital call,” Cody said. “It’s been difficult not being able to see them due to the lockdowns we are facing. What we have experienced nothing short of a miracle.”

According to both Marcus and Kristin, the doctors have said they should both be able to begin walking normally in at least four months.

On Wednesday the 13th, Marcus posted a video of himself using a walker and going to see Kristin for the first time since the accident.

“I’m walking with a walker,” Marcus said in his caption. “The doctors said that this is actually very good for next day after a femur surgery. Here is a little clip of me walking and surprising her [Kristin] at her room. This was our first time actually talking in person since the accident besides a quick wave before our surgery.”

Marcus was discharged to go home the following day. Kristin, however, remains hospitalized with no set discharge date as of yet.

On Wednesday, Kristin posted a video of her standing for the first time after her surgery.

“I stood today,” Kristin said in her caption, “I am going say it again & again, thank you Jesus for saving our lives. Thank you to the amazing nurses for being angels as well. And thank you guys for your messages, I find so much peace & happiness reading them throughout the day. LOVE YOU!”
